Senior Creative Writer

Squaremouth is looking for a Senior Copywriter to join our Marketing team. This is a mid-level position, with the opportunity for fast advancement for driven individuals. The ideal candidate for this position is highly creative with at least 3 years of direct writing and editing experience; press release writing experience is preferred.

This person will be responsible for managing and contributing to all editorial duties, including: press releases, website content, marketing campaigns and editorial articles. They should be able to translate technical information into engaging and impactful copy, develop a deep understanding of our industry and keep a pulse on newsworthy events impacting travel. This person must have the ability to learn and communicate using Squaremouth’s unique voice to create impactful copy across different mediums.

Responsibilities and Requirements

  • Write engaging and creative copy, including articles and press releases for both consumer and media audiences
  • Consistently execute attention-grabbing messaging that is on-brand and on-voice
  • Ability to translate technical language into easy-to-understand content
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask between writing projects and handle several tasks simultaneously
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment, to create urgent content and meet tight deadlines
  • Collaborate with the Marketing Department to develop new marketing initiatives and improve existing marketing efforts
  • Keep a pulse of the industry to identify new and newsworthy topics
  • Become well-versed in Squaremouth’s unique company culture and approach to customer service

Qualifications

  • Passion for copywriting and editing
  • Excellent communication skills
  • At least 3 years of copywriting experience
  • Engaging and creative writing style
  • Highly attentive to detail
  • PR, Marketing, or Communications experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Journalism, English or related field
  • Able to handle constructive criticism and accept different points of view and feedback
  • Strong personal drive with the ability to work both independently and within a team
  • Commitment to providing incredible customer service
  • BONUS: Familiarity with SEO best practices and writing for SEO
  • BONUS: Experience using Wordpress, Hootsuite, ExactTarget and Salesforce
  • BONUS: Experience writing for the travel industry
